When fire protection equipment is out of service, the building owner or responsible manager should coordinate with the fire authority and the qualified system contractor. The authority determines whether a fire watch is required and the conditions that apply to your building.
Guardian Eagle Security, Inc. operates under California BSIS Private Patrol Operator license PPO 14773. We review guard registration, site orientation and assignment-specific requirements before confirming coverage. A guard card is not a substitute for any approval or training the responsible fire authority requires.
Identify affected floors, occupied areas, entrances and the person coordinating alarm or sprinkler maintenance.
Coordinate routes, resident notification procedures and access to shared areas with the property manager.
Provide facility-specific restrictions and the instructions of the responsible fire authority or healthcare regulator.
The written scope should define the route, required patrol frequency, communication method and emergency notification procedure. Fire watch personnel focus on the assigned watch; unrelated duties must not interfere with required patrols and notifications.
Specify a patrol log with dates, times, areas checked, observations, notifications and relief-person handoffs. GES uses TrackTik for supervision, geofencing and photo reporting, supporting timestamped documentation as agreed for the assignment. Where the authority requires an on-site log or a particular format, that requirement controls.
Fire watch does not repair, certify or restore an alarm or sprinkler system. The building team and qualified contractor remain responsible for system work and the required approval to end the watch.
Our sales team will review the request and confirm availability and scope. A request alone does not establish coverage or a guaranteed arrival time. For an active fire or immediate emergency, call 911.
Read the fire watch planning guide for property managers. Reference materials include the City of Los Angeles fire watch provisions and HCAI fire watch guidance for healthcare facilities; confirm the current instructions for your site.
