A shopping plaza can have several operating schedules at once: early deliveries, daytime shopping, evening dining and tenants closing at different times. A useful security plan identifies which areas need attention during each period and who is responsible for decisions affecting shared property.
Identify walkways, shared entrances and spaces used by several tenants. Discuss the guard presence, observation and reporting duties needed in these areas.
List tenant hours and periods when the property is less occupied. Specify recurring shifts, closing-time needs and any temporary changes during promotions or events.
Include customer parking, loading areas and access routes in the site discussion. Define parking duties and escalation arrangements separately from general patrol coverage.
The property manager should identify a main contact, backup contact and agreed process for reporting concerns. Discuss how guards should respond to tenant requests, document observations and refer matters outside their assigned duties.
